staff1Cynthia Prete started in the childcare field in 1991, when she was only 19 years old! She started as a substitute in a home daycare and then moved on to becoming an assistant teacher at two childcare centers in Houston, Texas. Quickly, Cynthia realized this was the career for her. She continued her education in Early Childhood, becoming teacher certified for infant, toddler and preschool age groups. Cynthia taught in childcare Centers for the next 8 years. At this point, she realized she wanted to run a Center and became Director certified. With an impressive college background in early childhood education and years’ experience, Cynthia decided to open a Center of her own.

Early Minds Child Care, Inc. opened in 2001 with Cynthia as the one of the owners and the Director. Early Minds grew faster than Cynthia ever thought it would. It proved to her, she was offering something different; a warm, loving, QUALITY childcare Center.

Cynthia has a genuine love of children. She has devoted her professional life to providing a safe, creative and nurturing environment for children of all ages. She enjoys working with children and watching them learn and grow. Cynthia also has two 2 children of her own, who graduated from Early Minds Child Care. In her spare time she enjoys playing sports with her children, going to the beach, reading, shopping and spending time with her family.

Denise wanted to open a child care center because she believes all kids deserve to have a safe, educational environment to learn and grow in. She knew she could provide that in her own center. Denise has three grown children of her own. In her spare time she enjoys sewing, decorating and spending time with her family.

staff6Melissa Fleet (Missie) is the Program Director at Early Minds Child Care. Missie has been at Early Minds since it opened in 2001, starting out as a toddler teacher. The Directors/Owners knew Missie was a rare find and moved her into management in 2003 as the Assistant Director. In 2009 Missie became the Program Director of both the Somerset and Swansea Locations.

Missie didn’t know that this was field that she wanted to be in until she left retail management and became an Asst Preschool teacher in 1994. She continued her Education to become Preschool and Infant/Toddler teacher certified. Working with children and families quickly became her passion. Missie also enjoyed the managing aspect of the business as well and again continued her education to become Lead teacher as well as Director qualified.
